Religious Education

All parents of youth in Roman Catholic, and public and private school are invited and encouraged to register their children for religious education classes at St. Therese of Lisieux.

Grades Pre-K to 8th will attend Sunday Mass at 9:00 AM. They will then proceed to the school building to receive religious instruction until 11:30AM.

Tuition for the year is $50.00 per child, $75 for two children, payable in September.  The children will receive a textbook and a Gospel weekly.

NOTE: Two consecutive years of instruction are required for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

Catechists Wanted

Is the Lord calling you to be a Catechist?

We are looking for Catechists to help with the Religious Education program. If you have a few hours to spare to be a Catechist and to work for the Lord on Sunday mornings, please contact Fran McCormick 718-451-1671, email at sttheresereled@hotmail.com, contact the rectory office.

NOTE: You must have completed the sacraments of initiation, be a practicing Catholic in good standing, have a great love for God’s word, and a willingness to share your faith with our young people.

If you are an un-baptized adult who wishes to learn more about Catholicism, and possibly become a catholic, a baptized Christian from other denominations who wishes to learn more about Catholicism and become a member of the Catholic Church, or a baptized catholic who wishes to receive the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, join us for RCIA every Sunday beginning Sunday, September 25th, on the 2nd floor of the school, after the 11AM Mass.
