Regular attendance (no more than 3 excused absences) is very important and strongly encouraged so that our students may receive the full benefit of their religious education time. Parent requests for dismissal from class for sports practices will be counted as an unexcused absence. Excessive tardiness will also contribute as an absence. An excused absence is one for illness, medical needs or other valid emergencies where notification has been received (firstname.lastname@example.org) before class begins. If for some urgent reason your child is unable to attend the 9:00 am Mass, a note is required indicating the reason. Attendance at weekly Mass is considered part of the curriculum of the Religious Education Program.
Is the Lord calling you to be a Catechist?
We are looking for Catechists to help with the Religious Education program. If you have a few hours to spare to be a Catechist and to work for the Lord on Sunday mornings, please contact Mrs. Pauline Melchoir-Morris 718-451-1671, email at email@example.com or contact the rectory office.
NOTE: You must have completed the sacraments of initiation, be a practicing Catholic in good standing, have a great love for God’s word, and a willingness to share your faith with our young people.
